| Summary | This gene encodes a member of the ADAM (a disintegrin and metalloprotease domain) family. Members of this family are typically membrane-anchored, although a form of this protein may be secreted. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants, at least one of which encodes a preproprotein that is proteolytically processed to generate a mature protein product. This protein may bind to integrins and regulate lymphocyte migration by enhancing cell adhesion. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2015]. |
