Cannabinoids

Cannabinoids, any of the more than 80 known compounds found in all parts of the Cannabis plant, namely Cannabis indica and Cannabis sativa, are mainly concentrated in female flower heads. Edible cannabis (the dried leaves and flowers of the plant) and its derivatives are responsible for the physical and psychological effects on humans or animals.

Cannabinoids have a variety of effects on humans.

Usually, cannabinoids are inhaled by smoking marijuana. Cannabis can also be prepared into a concentrated resin (hashish), vaporized, or ingested (alone or in food). The main psychoactive chemical in hemp is tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). It causes mild feelings of euphoria and hallucinations. The brains of several mammals, including humans, have receptors for a substance naturally produced by the body that is similar to THC and, therefore, susceptible to its effects.

Cannabidiol (CBD) is also essential in cannabinoids. It has a more calming and relaxing effect on the body. So cannabinoids stimulate appetite and relieve nausea in patients undergoing chemotherapy, and marijuana is also used to treat chronic pain and conditions like glaucoma.
