Nuclear transfer is a form of cloning. The steps involve removing the DNA from an oocyte (unfertilized egg) and injecting the nucleus, which contains the DNA to be cloned.
Nuclear transfer is also the introduction of the nucleus from a cell into an enucleated egg cell (an egg cell with its own nucleus removed).
Nuclear transfer is now applied to many cases. In a laboratory procedure, a cell's nucleus is removed and placed into an oocyte with its own nucleus removed. Hence, the genetic information from the donor nucleus controls the resulting cell. Such cells can be induced to form embryos. This process was used to create the cloned sheep "Dolly". Furthermore, somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT), or “therapeutic cloning,” is a potentially powerful technique for generating autologous ESCs from adult somatic cells.
GenSmart Optimization is a free online tool for performing codon optimization to improve gene expression. GenScript's patented algorithms are integrated into the tool to optimize the computing capability of high-performance sequence generation.
GenSmart™ Design is a free online DNA construct design tool developed by GenScript. GenSmart™ Design has two design modules, the Create Construct module for individual plasmid design and the Create Library module for DNA library design.
This online tool shows commonly used genetic codon frequency table in expression host organisms including Escherichia coli and other common host organisms.
