Webinars » Speed Up and Simplify Your Antibody and Protein Purification with Magnetic Separation
Obtaining pure fractions of antibodies and proteins is crucial in many applications, including the development of medicines and vaccines, for structural and characterization studies or as raw materials used in biological assays. Antibody and protein purification is conventionally performed using column affinity chromatography, a gold standard technique that yields high recoveries and purities. It is a delicate process though, and usually involves long sample preparation times and has a relatively limited throughput.
Magnetic separation is an alternative yet powerful purification technique that has been gaining popularity in recent years. Apart from high recoveries and purities, it also simplifies the sample preparation process while simultaneously increasing throughput due to the inherently rugged nature of the method.
Field Application Scientist, GenScript
Jane is a Field Application Scientist who supports all technical inquiries and marketing activities pertaining to GenScript’s catalogue products. She has experience in both the life science as well as analytical chemistry industries. In 2013, Jane graduated with her Ph.D. and worked as a Research Fellow at the Singapore Institute for Clinical Sciences (SICS, A*STAR). Her research area focused largely on establishing an epigenome for clinical samples and involved collaborations with government hospitals. She then joined Waters Corporation in 2017 and was responsible for the consumables business in South East Asia. Her hybrid role required her to be heavily involved in business development, organizing marketing activities and providing technical support to customers.
