Cryo-EM and artificial intelligence: A marriage made in cell extracts

Protein interactions orchestrate cellular processes, but their analysis is challenging, especially in the native context. In this webcast, Dr. Panagiotis Kastritis of Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg will explore the feasibility of deriving vital structural insights for protein communities in endogenous cellular extracts with high-resolution cryo-EM and artificial intelligence methods.

In this webinar, you will learn

Endogenous, transient interactions may be captured in a cell-free environment

Heterogeneous specimens can be studied with integrative methods involving cryo-EM

How can CHO expression system accelerate the research of protein and antibody

Artificial intelligence approaches can catalyse the interpretation of identified macromolecules in complex specimens

Prof. Kastritis (PK) studied Biology in Athens University, earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Utrecht University, and then characterized cell extracts with integrative methods at EMBL Heidelberg. Since 2018, as Junior Professor at Halle-Wittenberg University, PK uses cryo-EM and computational biology for a holistic, structure-based understanding of endogenous biomolecular interactions.
