Webinars » One-Stop Solution for Library Design, Protein Engineering, Screening and Expression
Unlock the potential of protein discovery and target identification with the combined power of Allozymes' microfluidics platform and GenScript's gene synthesis expertise. This webinar delves into the exciting partnership between these two innovators, showcasing how their collaboration is accelerating research and development pipelines for companies worldwide.
Dr. Akbar Vahidi
CTO, Co-founder, Allozymes
Akbar Vahidi, a scientist-entrepreneur, earned his PhD in Biocatalysis from the National University of Singapore (NUS). During his PhD, he developed biocatalytic systems for APIs and biofuels. His postdoctoral research focused on microfluidics-based enzyme engineering, successfully demonstrating a droplet microfluidics system for near-application screening. He then co-founded Allozymes to commercialize the microfluidics platform developed during his postdoctoral research. Currently, Akbar serves as co-founder and chief technology officer at Allozymes, where he builds future-oriented solutions to accelerate enzyme engineering for diverse cell-free or cell-based applications in synthetic biology, chemicals, and cosmeceuticals.
Dr. Charlie Zou
Head of Project Management Dept.of Molecular Biology, GenScript
Dr. Charlie Zou earned his PhD in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada. His research focused on the cell division interactome ofNeisseria gonorrhoeaeand its involvement in antimicrobial resistance. In 2018, he joined GenScript as a principal project manager, where he has been involved in key account project management and global library project evaluation. Presently, he leads the molecular biology project management team at GenScript, providing support to global molecular biology customers.
