Webinars » Protein or Peptide Antigen
This webinar will provide practical guidance for choosing the optimal protein or peptide immunogen for antibody production. The generation of a custom polyclonal antibody can be accomplished using two primary approaches. The first is the use of a full-length protein as an immunogen which can be native, recombinant, gel band, or fusion. A second option is to instead generate shorter peptides using the native protein sequence and use these for immunization. There are advantages and disadvantages to both methods which will be outlined here. We will also discuss specific strategies, technologies, and services offered by GenScript to increase the likelihood of generating a successful polyclonal antibody.
