PISCATAWAY, New Jersey, 1st May, 2012 - GenScript Incorporation has announced the launch of one new brand, CelKine to offer cytokine related products and businesses. This brand will have its own new website: www.celkine.com
Cytokines are an important group of signaling proteins that carry signals between cells, tissues, and body parts, and thus have a critical effect on growth, differentiation, inflammation, and body defense. They are potent polypeptide molecules that regulate the immune and inflammation functions, as well. More recently, they have been found to be critical signals in stem cell development and differentiation. And therefore, they can play important roles in both health tissue care (such as hematopoiesis – production of blood cells, and wound healing) and therapeutics against abnormal development (such as tumor).
CelKine is a dedicated sub-brand of GenScript cytokine business. GenScript's Celkine brand will include a comprehensive spectrum of cytokine proteins, growth factors, chemokines, and other related proteins and antibodies. Most GenScript's cytokines under CelKine brand are of the premium products in the following two aspects: 1) they are produced according to GLP guidelines; 2) they are exceptionally low in endotoxin level (<0.25 EU/mg). Therefore, besides general use, they are particularly suitable for researches that require high quality cytokines such as primary cell culture or stem cell studies.
